This is the start of something new

"High School Musical" reference anyone?

If you couldn't guess from my complete lack of writing a blog post since Sep-freaking-tember (I'm mad at myself okay it's cool), I have been busy. I started my first semester in graduate school at Radford University - A.K.A. the best college to ever exist ever - last August and everything pretty much revolved around school for the remainder of 2016. That is something I have never seemed to mind since my sophomore year of college... school consuming my life, I mean. I adore learning and getting my Master's is proving to be a challenge. I love it though, don't get me wrong. It is seriously the best to see myself improving every single day. And Nicholas (ugh I know, we're still together) is always there to tear me away from my laptop and tell me to relax when I have been at it all day. And when I say all day I mean 12 or 13 hours all day. I didn't just pull that 4.0 GPA out of my ass, I worked my ass off for it.

Besides school... lol what am I talking about I don't have a life outside of school.

Just kidding. I was also the content editor for Radford's student yearbook the Beehive. So if you go to Radford, check meowt. I am still working at the S.O.A.R office when school is in session, and yes, it is still the most lovely job I could possibly have at this time in my life. My coworkers are great, almost everyone gets my sense of humor (or maybe they have just been laughing at me this whole time who really knows), and I have a stable 20 hour work week that allows me to pay my rent so I really can't complain.

Since Radford's winter break began about a week for Christmas, I have been interning in D.C. again for Washingtonian Magazine (OMG YES I KNOW THEY TOOK ME BACK IT'S GREAT)! I am about to word vomit all over my laptop so before that happens, I just want to say that I hope everyone in the world can find a job/career that they love as much as I love working for Washingtonian. I am challenged every day, I am encouraged and praised, and I feel very supported. Of course, the job is not easy, I just choose to be energized by the multitude of tasks thrown my way rather than weighed down by the workload. It seems to be working well for me, so I don't know, maybe try it sometime if you don't already. The majority of the office is women (so badass ugh), and almost each person in a leadership position is female. If that doesn't make you want to get out of bed in the morning, I don't know what will. It thrills me everyday to walk into such a successful company and the people in power look like me, dress like me, and speak like me. Anyway, #blessed.

I want to thank my mother (and dad but he doesn't social media so), who I hope gets around to reading this lil blog post, for graciously letting me crash at the house while I am on break from school, buying groceries and not complaining too much about how much I eat, and not killing me for drinking (almost) all the wine. I'll remember to get that channel changer next time, mama.
