11 things to look forward to in 2016

The beginning of a new year calls for a fresh outlook on the coming months. Resolutions are made, bucket lists are written, and the hope for an awesome year consumes us. We think positively of each coming year, not sure what it will bring but hopeful that it will be better than the last. For me, the list of things to look forward to in 2016 is a bit different. With a logical state of mind, here are some of the things I have to look forward to for next year, and you might too.
1. That the year will finally be an even number again.
It cannot be just me.
2. The holidays.
Guys, we get to experience the Fourth of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas all over again next year!
3. Paying for my own rent.
I would not say this is something to look forward to as much as it is something to plan for. Like how the heck am I going to come up with $400 a month while also going to graduate school full time?
4. Moving into a new place.
If you are like me and enjoy living in different places (even if it is only a few streets away), this is the most exciting part of a new year. New opportunities arise here and there and you have the chance to uproot yourself and move. I cannot wait.
5. Working out more.
Who am I kidding?
6. Being older.
Many will disagree with me. Personally, I cannot wait until I am fully grown into myself. I will be a force to be reckoned with, even more than now. Plus, who says being older is a bad thing?
7. Finding out if Trump wins the election.
Cannot say I am excited to find out. The thought of someone so blatantly racist running this country is terrifying, but there is always Canada!
8. Another version of the iPhone.
With any luck, I won't drop my 6S into the sink again. Either way, the iPhone 7 will be out by next year no doubt.
9. Learning more.
I have another two and a half years of school left and I could not be happier. Give me the knowledge, all of the knowledge.
10. New trends.
Every year something notable happens to summarize the year as a whole. In 2015, it was being offended on social media. In 2016, who knows? Hopefully something better than last year since it really cannot get much worse than a year being remembered by everyone being a whiny baby on the Internet.
11. Being another year further from your middle school self.
Now doesn't that make you happy?
